Although DarEmar is
a licensed publishing house, it does not plan to conduct its publishing
activities as a commercial venture. Rather, most of its publishing projects
will be run as developmental non-profit programs meant to foster
civil thinking, non-violence, and inter-cultural dialogue.
As such, pricing policies of
DarEmar require that most books be sold at near cost value.
Copyrights permitting, many of DarEmar's publications will
also be made available on the internet free of charge. The purpose is to
reach out to the widest possible spectrum of readers to help foster public
debate on a broad range of issues pertaining to civil society and
democratization, human rights and security, cultural interaction and global
dynamics.
DarEmar's current
publishing projects include:

intellectual vacuum. First, one
needs
to provide the intellectual basis upon which such constructs could be
established...

2) Eye on the
Future:

theater, music and TV productions, its core activity remains
book-publishing, with the entire project aimed at children and
adolescents...

3) The Uni-Earth
Series:
The Uni-Earth Series reflects DarEmar's interest in fostering
inter-cultural dialogue and discourse. As is the case with many other
DarEmar projects, there are several components involved here, and
DarEmar, in cooperation with the Dutch agency Nederlands Literair
Produktie - En Vertalingen Fonds, intends to launch The Prince Claus
Series in the Summer of 2004, which will come as a more concerted effort
to expose the Arab World to Dutch literature and critical writings...
